How to Resize Royal Icing Transfer Sheets

Our royal icing transfer sheets are provided in three standard PDF sizes. These sizes work for most cookies, but sometimes you need your designs to be just a little bigger—or smaller. Luckily, resizing is quick and easy using your printer settings.

Follow the steps below to adjust your transfer sheets to the perfect size:

Step 1: Open the PDF

Download your transfer sheet and open it on your computer. Most devices will automatically open PDFs with a program like Adobe Acrobat Reader or Preview (on Mac).

Step 2: Go to Print Settings

  • Select Print from the File menu or use the shortcut (Ctrl + P on Windows, Command + P on Mac).

  • Look for the Scale or Custom Scale option in the print dialog box.

Step 3: Adjust the Scale

  • 100% scale = the original size of the file

  • Smaller transfers → reduce the percentage (e.g., 80%)

  • Larger transfers → increase the percentage (e.g., 120%)

Step 4: Print a Test Page

Before printing the full sheet, print just one page to check sizing against your cookies.

  • If it’s too small, bump the scale up a little.

  • If it’s too large, lower the percentage.

Repeat until you’re happy with the fit.

Step 5: Print the Full Sheet

Once you’ve found the perfect size, go ahead and print as many sheets as you need for your project!

Tip: Write down the percentage that worked best for your cookie cutters so you can use the same setting again later.
